Hiring Without Pre-Screening Burns Your Time

Write the job description. Re-write the job description. Post on multiple platforms. Monitor those multiple platforms daily. Read lots and lots of resumes. Prep for 60-minute interviews. Deliberate over the candidates. Forget what they said. Deliberate more. Risk losing the candidates. Restart the search. Repeat the process.

This is the Cost of Inaction you pay for poor hiring structure that considers everyone in-depth. Meanwhile, the key person you need on your team gets buried under the resume pile until you decide, or they make another commitment before you ever meet them.

Schedule a quick call or Zoom before committing to a full interview. This 15 minute call will protect a potential 60+ minutes of your time per person. Then, clearly outline your non-negotiables for the role, and use them to rule out candidates quickly:

Logistics - Location, schedule, pay range.

Behavioral - Communication basics, red flags in past experience(s).

Culture Fit - Do they align with the company’s values?

This is just the preview. For more gold nuggets in cutting the time you spend in the hiring loop, check out our full guide HERE. And for more Behavioral and Culture Fit Questions that we use in our own screening process, HERE is a list.
